What’s your story?
If you aren’t telling a compelling story about your brand, someone else is probably telling a crummy story about your brand.
Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the stories that you tell.
-Seth Godin
At Ad4!, we call telling your story your Red Pencil.
In a world where there are millions of brands and thousands of choices for consumers, you have to find a way to stand out. You stand out by telling your story to the audience you want, the way you want. With so many choices, nobody wants to do business with average companies selling average products and services. If that’s you, you’re just another yellow pencil. Don’t be a yellow pencil.
We’ll be talking much more about telling your story over the next several months. But today, I think a simple story is the best way to convey my point.
The words you use to tell your story matter. As part of the promotion for her book Change Your Words, Change Your World, Andrea Gardner made this video. It’s called “The Power of Words”, but it’s about telling your story.
